The push for sales tax sales reform in Arizona is now just a governor's signature away. The state legislature passed a bipartisan bill aimed at taking the chaos out of business tax collections, by boiling multiple filings down to just one form. Senator Al Melvin, a Tucson republican, applauds it,
"I'm convinced that this bill will really help buniess throughout Arizona, large and small. And in the end will result in the creation of jobs in the private sector," Melvin said.
Cities had concerns about the way the bill would handle data gathering and auditing, but an amendment has remedied that, prompting the Arizona League of Cities and Towns to throw its support behind the bill.
The legislation heads to Gov. Jan Brewer, who championed the idea.
