Arizona Congressman Trent Franks is pleased his bill banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy has been approved by the U.S. House of Representatives.
Franks says he believes the tide has turned since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.
"The pro-abortion side won a great victory on that day, but they have been losing ever since. People are confronting the reality of abortion and demand in this country," Franks said.
In a press conference before the House vote, Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier of California said it is the trifecta of a bad bill: unconstitutional, unsafe and unsupported by medical science. The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act now heads to the Senate.
