The Arizona Department of Transportation has approved its 5-year plan which designates road projects to be completed over the next five years. Spokeswoman Laura Douglas says the Transportation Board had several big budget challenges in making its decisions.
“ADOT was faced with cutting $350 million out of the 5-year program due to low revenue from the gas tax, the vehicle license tax, low federal funding,” Douglas said.
One of the projects that did not get approved, despite quite a bit of support, was the widening of State Route 260, between Payson and Heber.
