New numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau show Arizona is among the states with the most housing units in the country. As of July first of last year, Arizona had almost 2.9 million housing units. That was an increase of almost 13,000 from the year before. That put Arizona in 14 th place nationwide, behind states like California, Florida and Texas.
Overall, the country added almost 350,000 new housing units between July of 2011 and last July, an increase of 0.3 percent. Arizona’s increase was 0.4 percent over that time.
