Some Charges Dropped In Casa Grande Explosion

A judge has dismissed two federal charges against an Iraqi man accused of detonating an explosive device outside a federal building in Casa Grande, but state and other federal charges are still pending. Federal prosecutors asked the court to dismiss two counts against Abdullatif Ali Aldosary. The prosecutors said the two charges should be dismissed, because a Pinal County grand jury recently indicted Aldosary on arson and related state charges for the same crimes in state courts. They said he cannot be tried for the same conduct in separate criminal courts.

Aldosary allegedly detonated the homemade explosive device in November outside a Social Security building. No one was injured. Aldosary has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.
