Arizona Rainfall Already Exceeds Average Total

Monsoon storms are expected around the state again today. The National Weather Service says we really got hit Thursday morning. Meteorologist Austin Jamieson says one of the worst storms was in Pinal County .

“Between Superior and Globe we had a report of 83/100 of an inch of rain in 20 minutes, so very heavy rain there and washes were running,” Jamieson said.

At Sky Harbor Airport , we've received 4.38 inches of rain so far, in 2013. That puts the area 4/10 inch above the normal rainfall total.
