Arguments Begin On How Police Officers Should Spend Their Time At Work

Friday, attorneys for the Goldwater Institute and the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association were in Maricopa County Superior Court  to argue a case that centers on how some police officers spend their time on the job. Clint Bolick, the Goldwater Institute’s vice president of litigation, said this is not a new issue.

Not surprisingly, the other side in this lawsuit, sees the issue a little differently. Ken Crane is an officer with the Phoenix Police Department and the vice president of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, or PLEA. He said release time is important to cops.
