Hot, Dry Weather Does Not Signal End To Monsoon Season

While most of the nation experiences a cool down this week, it’s unusually hot and dry for central Arizona and will remain that way through the weekend. But, Mark O’Malley with the National Weather Service says the hot weather does not signal an end to the monsoon season.

“There is still hope that for the remainder of the month and into the beginning of September that we could have some more episodes of showers and thunderstorms through the state,” O’Malley said. “So stay tuned, it’s not over yet.”

Temperatures in the Valley will peak to 110 degrees on Friday before slowly dropping for the rest of the week. There’s a slight chance of rain through the Valley this morning.
