Former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, gave her farewell speech as Homeland Security Secretary today, praising the department's response to critical issues during her tenure. But, she ended her address by giving advice to her successor, saying that security problems will continue,
“Many things still need tending and my successor will most certainly have a full plate on his or her hands,” Napolitano said. “Our country will, for example, at some point, face a major cyber event that will have a serious effect on our lives, our economy and the everyday functioning of our society.”
