Gas Prices Up, But Likely To Fall Again

It'll cost you a little more to fill up your gas tank this weekend. AAA Arizona says gas prices have gone up about a penny on average to $3.40 a gallon statewide. But, spokeswoman Michelle Donatti says prices will likely go down some in the weeks ahead as demand drops off.

“Labor Day, summer travel season, it’s in the rearview mirror now,” Donatti said. “Families are in their fall swing and their fall routines. They’re not taking those weekend road trips and things like that.”

Flagstaff continues to have the highest average prices in the state; they're up a penny to $3.63, while Tucson has the lowest prices, at $3.30 a gallon. That's up three cents from last week.
