Small Business Loans To Help With Yarnell Fire Damage

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has rejected Arizona 's request for a major disaster declaration for victims of the Yarnell Hill fire, for a second time.

But the administration is offering small business loans to help homeowners and businesses that were impacted. Richard Colton is a Small Business Administration spokesman and says those offices will open in Yarnell tomorrow and that residents need not have been directly impacted by the fire to qualify.

“They do not have to have had physical damage to qualify but they have to be able to show that the fire did create an economic strain on them and paying their fixed costs and their bills,” Colton said.

He says SBA will be able to offer below-market interest rates to people in the affected area.
