Arizona could be in danger of losing its waiver from the federal No Child Left Behind Law. The state and federal government are at odds over two issues, the weight Arizona gives graduation rates in its high school rating system and how it uses the AIMS test to evaluate teachers.
Vince Yanez is executive director of the Arizona State Board of Education, the body which will make the final decision on whether to make any changes to its waiver application. He said the state has been operating under a waiver since last school year.
