Sen. Ted Cruz aside, the government shutdown frustrated just about everyone, from tourists who wanted to visit national parks to people with chronic conditions who were worried about getting their medicine. The shutdown, along with big cities like Phoenix reconsidering their employee pension plans, could lead to more workers leaving their government jobs for the private sector.
Dr. John Sullivan, a San Francisco-based human resources expert, wrote about that earlier this month in an essay called “The Government Shutdown Provides a Great Recruiting Opportunity."
