Inspectors Say Roller Coasters At State Fair Are Safe

The roller-coasters at the Arizona State Fair are getting the ‘green light’ from safety inspectors.  In fact, inspector Barry Schaivle of RJ Coulter and Associates says riding one of the coasters is safer than driving to the fairgrounds.

“More people are killed walking across the street to the fair grounds than on a carnival ride,” Schaivle said. “Carnival rides are very safe for the numbers of people that they ride.”

The state fair continues through Sunday at the fairgrounds on McDowell Road .
