Flu Spreads To Coconino County

Influenza has reached northern Arizona . A Flagstaff man is recovering after becoming the first confirmed case in Coconino County during the 2013-14 flu season. Chief Health Officer Marie Peoples says people should take that as a warning to get inoculated.

“It’s common of course around this time of year but it’s also a great reminder for us all to take precautions, as far as getting flu shots and being mindful in prevention efforts,” Peoples said.

She advises everyone to get a flu shot but says groups like the elderly, and young children, as well as those with pre-existing medical conditions are top priorities.
