Large Events Will Bring Heavy Traffic To The West Valley This Sunday

If you are planning to be in the West Valley late Sunday, be aware, you will be far from alone. Unusually heavy traffic is expected on the roads and freeways as a NASCAR race, the Arizona Cardinals game and a concert at Jobing.com Arena bring people to the west side.

Garin Groff of the Arizona Department of Transportation said that could lead to major traffic delays when the race and the Cardinals game get over.

“When the Cardinals game lets out, it’s probably gonna be best to head north on area and also on I-10 in the West Valley," Groff said.

Groff said it could be slow-going on West Valley freeways even without any crashes on the highways. The heaviest delays are expected both in early afternoon and again between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday.
