The State Fair continues to be a big attraction in the Valley. Spokeswoman Jeannie Berg said the mild weather combined with other attractions on the Midway and at the Coliseum, led to more visitors than ever.
“We exceeded 1.1 million, which is a record for that five day schedule,” Berg said. “We, you know, we reduced our days down from six days to five daysfour years ago, and so this year is a record for us.”
Berg said the fair attracted 1,585,515 visitors, which was an increase of 24,000 over last year. She credits the wide variety of entertainment and activities, which allowed the fair to appeal to a diverse audience.
