Phoenix Man Pleads Not Guilty In Wrong-Way Crash

A Phoenix man charged in a wrong-way freeway crash that killed a woman is pleading not guilty.

Twenty-seven-year-old Benjamin Kuzelka entered the plea on Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court. Kuzelka had been indicted on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, endangerment and aggravated DUI.

He was arrested Nov. 7 after being released from a hospital where he was being treated for injuries from the Oct. 6 accident that killed 55-year-old Mary Boysman of Oswego, NY. Boysman was a passenger in an SUV that was hit head-on by the vehicle Kuzelka was driving in the wrong direction on State Route 51. The SUV driver was seriously hurt and was hospitalized for days.
