Beware Of Cyber Monday Scam Artists

A lot of Arizonans will be shopping online during Cyber Monday. Computer experts said that can open them up to scam artists. Ken Colburn of Data Doctors said there is a trick available to online shoppers wanting to ensure the website they are about to use is legitimate.

“You want to use what is called the "hover trick," and that is if you float your mouse over the top of the link, don't click on it, just float your mouse over the top, then look down in the bottom lefthand corner of either your email or your web browser,” Colburn said. “It will show you where that link is actually going to go.”

Colburn said one of the new ways the scammers are going to try to get to you is through compromised social media accounts. He said they will take over your friends' accounts and post messages saying where they got a great deal, when in fact, it is a scam.
