The Department of Public safety says it has arrested four people and turned four others over to federal immigration officials, after a tip that a drug deal was going down in a west Phoenix parking lot, according to DPS spokesman Bart Graves.
“When DPS officers approached, 8 subjects ran from the vehicle in question,” Graves said. “All the subjects were apprehended.”
Graves says DPS called immigration officials to determine the status of those involved, and ICE took four of them into custody. DPS arrested the other four. Graves says it’s unusual to see a drug deal go down in front of a crowded supermarket in broad daylight, but DPS was glad to seize the 100 pounds of marijuana found in the vehicle.
