Local Business Owners Weigh In Over Online Sales Tax

State lawmakers from around the country have been in Washington, D.C., the past few days talking to members of Congress about several issues, including the Marketplace Fairness Act.

The bill would give states the power to collect taxes on sales made online. The Senate has approved the measure, but it’s been stuck in the House.

Lance Muzslay is the co-owner of Sole Sports Running Zone, which has three brick-and-mortar locations.

Drex Davis is the CEO of scrapbook.com, a Mesa-based company that sells craft supplies online. He’s also the co-founder of the eMainStreet Alliance, a group of small business that opposes the Marketplace Fairness Act.
