Leah Landrum-Taylor Is First To Enter Democratic Primary For Secretary Of State

Democratic State Senator Leah Landrum-Taylor is running for Secretary of State. She’s the first to enter the Democratic primary. Landrum-Taylor says she’ll use the office to make sure there are no obstacles to anyone’s right to vote.

“The more certain our state is that each registered citizen is afforded a clean and transparent, and trustworthy opportunity to vote, the stronger our state will be,” Landrum-Taylor said.

She says she will not use the office as a stepping stone, or to keep any group down, but that if the governor’s office became vacant, she would have no problem stepping into the job. At least three Republicans are running to replace the term-limited Ken Bennett. They are Senator Michele Reagan, Representative Justin Pierce, and investor Wil Cardon.
