One of Arizona’s national parks is getting bigger. Petrified Forest National Park is adding more than 4,200 acres, after a couple of outside groups bought the land and transferred it to the National Park Service. This comes almost a decade after Congress authorized the park’s expansion.

Bill Parker is the Petrified Forest National Park’s paleontologist.
