McCain Criticizing Administration's Iraq Policies Again

Arizona Sen. John McCain is again criticizing the administration’s policies on Iraq, saying the United States is doing nothing to help end al Qaeda-fueled violence there.

The senator says the re-emergence of al Qaeda is very disturbing to the veterans who fought so hard in Iraq. The senator tells CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ there are things the U.S. could do to help.

“First of all no combat troops obviously, let’s get that out of the way, but we could provide them with assistance,” McCain said. “We could provide them with logistic support. We can provide them with Apache helicopters.”

McCain says when you look at Iraq and Syria, you’re seeing an al Qaeda enclave there and he says that is very dangerous to American security. McCain says the U.S. could have kept a residual force in Iraq, and anyone who says otherwise is not telling the truth.
