A new bill would make it easier for Arizonans to buy a Tesla. The electric-car manufacturer has been restricted by a state law that prohibits manufacturers from selling directly to a consumer. That is a problem, because Tesla does not have dealerships and relies on consumers buying cars straight from the company.
New legislation introduced by state Rep. John Kavanagh would change the law so manufacturers could sell directly to customers as long as a dealer is not within 60 miles.
