Not all that long ago, during a previous gubernatorial administration, the business community and many state lawmakers were enthusiastic about the future of biosciences. The industry was going to have a huge impact economically and medically, but the recession and deep budget cuts, among other factors, led to deemphasizing biotech. Based on something Gov. Jan Brewer said in this week’s State of the State, though, that may be changing.
