Investigators from the FBI and the Arizona Attorney General’s office have been seen wearing hazmat suits as they search through dumpsters at a biological research center in Tempe.
The building is reportedly a human tissue bank where people can donate bodies or body parts.
“The nature of the business being what it is, we did have all of our investigators put hazmat suits on, but the general public is not at risk at all,” said spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham of the Attorney General's office. “This is a safety precaution for our investigators.”
Grisham would not give details about the investigation, but says it’s been going on for about nine months and is expected to continue for several weeks.
