The fight over SB 1070, the immigration enforcement law, put Arizona in national and international headlines. It also affected the perception of the state and led to conference cancellations and emotional rallies. A ruling by the Supreme Court took the teeth out of the legislation and turned down the volume on the fight, as Congress may actually act in 2014 to reform the U.S. immigration system.
This complex story, told from the different perspectives of many Arizonans, is featured in the new documentary, "The State of Arizona." It will air Monday night on “Independent Lens” on PBS, locally on channel 8 KAET. Catherine Tambini is the co-director and co-producer of the documentary.
