Gas prices were up again in Arizona this week, but AAA is predicting the statewide average of $3.25 a gallon should drop before long. Spokeswoman Linda Gorman says there is no rational reason for Arizona gas prices to be up almost a penny from last week.
“Pump prices across the country have fallen over the last week, and even in the in the weeks previously, so like I said it’s very unusual,” Gorman said. “In fact, the current environment just does not support these continued high prices.”
Gorman says the national average price dropped about as much as Arizona ’s increased last week, and is now $3.29 a gallon. Flagstaff drivers continue to pay the state’s highest prices, on average, at $3.36, while drivers in Tucson are paying the least at $3.18 a gallon.
