Influenza Claims A Pediatric Victim In Yuma

Arizona has recorded its first pediatric influenza death of the year in Yuma County.  Diana Gomez is the Yuma County health director.

“We can’t discuss a lot due to privacy laws, but I can tell you that the child had underlying medical conditions," Gomez said.

Gomez said it is not too late to for anyone over six months of age to get a flu shot. She did say it will take about two weeks for the vaccine to become effective.
