DPS Patrols Increase For Super Bowl Weekend

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says it will have extra patrols on the roads Sunday night to keep tabs on post-Super Bowl partiers.

Spokesman Raul Garcia says the Saturation Patrols will start at 6 p.m. and continue through early Monday morning.

“Just by seeing the added patrol vehicles out there in addition to what you might normally see on a Sunday to Monday morning, we know and we expect will be a deterrent in itself,” Garcia said.

Garcia says the added patrols will also help with processing arrested drunk drivers and allow patrol officers to get back on the street in a shorter period of time.
