Brewer Looking To Reward Like-Minded Republicans With Campaign Cash

Gov. Jan Brewer is building up her campaign war chest to help like-minded Republicans win election.

New reports show she raised nearly $42,000 in the last half of 2013 for JanPac, giving her close to $345,000 on hand.

Brewer is attempting to cement a hard-line position on immigration and what she calls amnesty, even as Republicans in the United States Senate and House try to sketch out their own positions.

The governor was interviewed Friday by Fox News host Stuart Varney about her opposition to a pathway to citizenship for anyone before the border is secure.

“Would you throw them out?” Varney asked.

“Yes,” Brewer said.

Brewer told Capitol Media Services that she has no second thoughts about wanting undocumented immigrants out.

“Maybe it is pretty harsh, but the fact of the matter is, I understand there's an issue there and we need to resolve all these issues,” Brewer said. “But we're not able to come to any resolution unless we get our borders secured.”

Brewer said immigration reform will not be the only issue she’ll use to hand out campaign cash. She said she’s looking for people who support good government.
