The Phoenix Open came to a close Sunday, and now its host golf course will be getting a face lift. Last night, Scottsdale City Council approved about 12 million dollars in changes to The Tournament Players Club. About 3 million dollars will go toward renovations to the clubhouse while the rest will be spent on changes to the course. According the golf-channel, there will be changes to irrigation and cart paths and a narrowing of the 18th fairway which will mean a change in strategy for players. If all goes as planned, the updates should be done in time for next year’s Phoenix Open.
