More people moved from other counties to Maricopa County than any other county in the country. That is one of the findings from the U.S. Census Bureau report released on Thursday. Maricopa also had ranked at the top of another measurement.
The American Community Survey shows how many U.S. residents move from one specific county to another during a one year period. People from 957 counties across the United States moved into Maricopa County. At the same time, the county also lost movers to the largest number of counties,1,190.
The largest number of people leaving Maricopa County did not go far. Nearly 20,000 people moved next door to Pinal County. According to the survey, that was the pattern for most of the migration with people moving from one to a neighboring county.
Nationally there was a large net influx of movers to the southwest and parts of Florida and Colorado.
