A state lawmaker is going after what she calls the "dark money" when it comes to campaign contributions.
Senator Michele Reagan says her bill bans companies from transferring money to what she calls "convenience corporations" to hide who is making donations to political campaigns.
“It’s a big loophole in our law and I’m trying to close it, which has a lot of people watching to see — can we actually get this through and will people actually have the guts to vote yes on it,” Reagan said.
Her co-sponsors include a mix of liberal Democrats and Tea Party Republicans. The bill is to be heard in the Senate Elections Committee, which she chairs, tomorrow.
