The Yarnell Hill Fire destroyed more than 100 homes and killed 19 elite firefighters in June 2013.

Even though Monday is a holiday, Arizona lawmakers will be working at the state legislature. They are hurrying to meet a deadline.

Friday is the cutoff date for bills introduced in the House to get a hearing before house committees and likewise for Senate bills before senate committees. One of the measures getting a hearing in the House on Monday will be a proposal to establish the Yarnell Hill Memorial Park. The park would be built on the site where 19 firefighters were killed last summer fighting a wildfire.
