We started the program with SB 1062, the bill passed by the Arizona House and Senate that is now in the hands of Gov. Jan Brewer. Supporters say the bill is intended to protect businesses that decide not to serve gays and lesbians on the basis on sincerely-held religious beliefs, but in the past few days, opponents of the legislation have loudly proclaimed its potential negative impact on Arizona, especially the economy.

Even three state senators who voted for the bill have called on the governor to veto it. Business leaders have also been out front in criticizing the legislation. We turned to Glenn Hamer, president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.

SB 1062 has Arizona's values being debated on television, radio and social media. The state that Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" called the meth lab of democracy seems to be at it again. Consultant Barrett Marson, who was in the thick of the legislature when he was spokesman for former House Speaker Jim Weiers, talked about that.
