The federal immigration reform saga continues. Many observers thought legislation was dead this year, after conservative House Republicans made it clear to Speaker John Boehner that they would not support it. Instead, they prefer to wait until the results of November’s elections to see if the GOP could reclaim a majority in the Senate.
Now the group FWD.us, led in part by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, has released a new commercial that will air in all 50 states over the next two weeks. It calls on House Republicans to act now on immigration reform.
