About a decade ago, the Center for the Future of Arizona was established. Describing itself as a “do” tank, the center has focused on using public policy research to help solve some of the state’s problems, including the percentage of high school dropouts.
The next step was a collaboration with the Gallup polling organization on an elaborate report called “The Arizona We Want.” It identified eight citizen goals, improving education and infrastructure among them.
This week, the Arizona We Want Institute introduced its first director, Darcy Renfro, formerly of Science Foundation Arizona. She was also an advisor to former Gov. Janet Napolitano.
