Robert Edsel will speak this Sunday at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

In this clip from the movie "The Monuments Men," George Clooney’s character, Frank Stokes, is talking about the works of art he and his platoon are trying to protect from the Nazis. The film is based on a book of the same name, written by Robert Edsel. He has written three books on the subject and will be in the Valley this weekend to talk about it.

Edsel said it is amazing that more than a half century after WWII, there is a major part of the war that we do not know much about. He is also the author of other books about the discovery and survival of artwork during WWII.

Edsel will be speaking at the Tempe Center for the Arts on Sunday evening, in an event put on the Phoenix Art Museum.
