Federal Health Care Enrollment Jumps Up In Arizona

More Arizonans are purchasing insurance as the deadline approaches to sign-up under the federal health care program. The latest federal statistics show a increase in enrollment in the state over the past few weeks.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says enrollment in Arizona has jumped sharply since March 1.  Cheryl O’Donnell is Arizona Director for  “Enroll America," a group promoting Obamacare.

“Leading up to the month of March…we have well over 50,000 Arizonans who have purchased who have purchased health care through health care.gov.  That’s a 32 percent jump in numbers since February” said O'Donnell.

O’Donnell said 74 percent of Arizonans qualified for financial assistance to pay their monthly premiums.  Open enrollment ends on March 31.  The next opportunity to sign up is in November.
