Costco Issues Recall Of Real Sliced Fruit Product

If you buy freeze-dried snacks at Costco, you will want to hear this. The stores have recalled Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit because of possible salmonella contamination. David McAtee of the Yavapai County Health Department said the recall is for products with "best-before dates" on the upper left corner of the package between February 14, 2015 and March 11, 2015.

“This becomes really more of an issue for the elderly, their bodies just don’t maintain as much water, and the very young 'cause their immune systems just aren’t up to it,” McAtee said. “Those two groups of people have a harder time fighting this than the average person.”

But, McAtee said if you have the product, you have probably been notified. Since you need a Costco card to buy from the store, he said the store is able to contact customers in case of a problem, and the store does a good job of that.
