The Arizona Game and Fish Department said another bighorn sheep has died after being relocated to the Santa Catalina Mountains, near Tucson, in November. That’s the 16th of 31 relocated sheep to die, most of them falling prey to mountain lions, according to spokesman Joe Sacco.
“We’re constantly re-evaluating the project from A to B, and so, release locations is one of the things that we’re evaluating, as we move forward,” Sacco said.
He said Game and Fish plans to continue with the relocation of 60 more bighorns to the area over the next two years, but there may be changes before anything else is done.
