There were a few tense moments Tuesday in Scottsdale after a package was found in a tree.
Police spokesman David Pubins says a lockdown was ordered at Desert Mountain High School and a nearby middle school, until it was determined city traffic engineers had placed the device.
“That was one of the contractor's devices that was placed in the tree, that they were utilized for gathering traffic data, basically finding out the number of vehicles and the like that go by a specific location,” Pubins said.
Pubins says the lockdown was lifted after 45 minutes, once it was determined what the device was.
