More college students are on their way to downtown Phoenix. The University of Arizona announced Wednesday it’s moving part of its MBA program.
The Eller College of Management has a satellite campus at an office building in Scottsdale. But this fall, the program is moving downtown into empty space at the U of A College of Medicine, said Associate Dean Hope Schau.
The move will give students more campus-friendly experience, "so instead of being in an office building on their own, they’ll be with medical students, nursing students," Schau said.
At first about 50 part-time MBA students will study downtown. The number could eventually grow to 170, Schau said.
Development in the urban core of Phoenix has been steady in recent years, in large part because of higher education.
