Arizona drivers once again paid more to fill up their tanks this week. AAA says the average price of a gallon of gas was up two cents per gallon, to $3.38.
Spokeswoman Michelle Donatti says the higher prices were expected as the spring driving season gets underway, but that they’re still a lot lower than last year’s prices.
“Last year prices peaked on March 4, at $3.75 per gallon, so much higher than what we’re paying now and then in 2012 prices peaked at $3.90, on March 28.”
Donatti says prices will likely continue to go up for about the next month. Flagstaff drivers are still paying the highest average prices at $3.54, while motorists in Tucson pay the least at $3.29 a gallon.
