Arizona Casinos Generated $1.8 Billion In 2012

A new report shows Indian Casinos in Arizona posted an increase in gaming revenue in 2012, even though they had fewer slot machines and table games.

The report shows the casinos brought in more than $1.8 billion in 2012, a 3 percent increase from 2011.

Casino City’s Indian Gaming Report says the number of table games dropped in the same period by 23 and there were 203 fewer slot machines in operation.

Economist Alan Meister, who compiled the report, said it shows national revenue from Indian Casinos at an all-time high of $28.1 billion.

There were 15 Arizona tribes operating 22 casinos in the state in 2012. The first Navajo casino, ease of Flagstaff, opened in May 2013.
