Democrats in the Arizona Congressional delegation are joining with their colleagues in Congress in an effort to force a House vote on immigration reform. Tucson’s Raúl Grijalva said if the measure got to the floor it would pass, but House Speaker John Boehner is refusing to bring it up for debate.

“You don’t need their full caucus to pass this. A 180, 190 Democrats would vote for something reasonable and comprehensive and all you need after that is 17 to 20 Republicans, and I think those votes are there," said Boehner.

But, while the votes to pass immigration reform may be there, it is questionable whether enough Republicans in Congress would vote to support a procedural tactic that would embarrass their leadership, to get it to the floor.
