Planned Parenthood of Arizona is disputing several allegations made by state health investigators about its Glendale clinic.
The claims involve record-keeping and patient care, and stem from a February inspection.
Health department investigators say Planned Parenthood did not provide required licensing and certification records for three employees. They also say the clinic did not perform required tests on a patient, and did not properly monitor the woman's vital signs in the recovery room.
The information came to light as part of an open records request made by the Associated Press. Planned Parenthood President Bryan Howard refutes these allegations and says he wants them withdrawn.
Unannounced inspections, like this one, of Arizona abortion clinics are only allowed with a search warrant. A current bill in the legislature would remove that requirement.
