What Above Normal Temperatures Now Can Mean For This Summer

Our February and March temperatures were above normal most afternoons, but are we really ready for the highs we have hit this week around the Valley? Tuesday's high was 94, and the forecast calls for 98 degrees on Thursday.

Why is this happening, and what could this mean for the summer? Randy Cerveny, professor of geographical science at Arizona State University and the author of "Weather's Greatest Mysteries Solved,” did his best to explain.
